Hi Shibu, I have a concern regarding my weight. I was 86kgs last year when I went to cmc, vellore for my rehab. However, last September, I have gone through liposuction as my body proportion was not right. My hands are so thin when compared to my stomach and lower limbs because of which I m not abke to move my lower limbs with my hands. This hss also limited my shifting positons. Even after liposuction, there was not much difference in my lower limbs . But lot of difference in my stomach.
Adding to this, I have shoulder impingement on my right shoulder for the past year and am going through physiotherapy for the same for the past 3 months....but still I m not relieved of the pain because of which I m not able to shift from bed to wheelchair. I was directed by my doctor and therapist not to wheel the chair too.
Now, I m in a cylce where if inwould reduce the weight of my lower limbs it will be easy for my hands to move them. But till my pain is not reduced I will not be able to do any exercises. I have recently viewed a motorised cycle where we can sit in a chair and do cycling. By doing this, my logic says that the thigh muscles would get enough exer ise thereby reduce the fat, and also my legs would become more flexible. Due to lack of exercises to my lower limbs, oflate they have become more rigid.
So, I request u to suggest me if I could go with this motorised cycle.
I have posed this question to u as u r a therapist. But anyone could give their suggestions from the foundation and help me tackle this situation.
Thank u all

Thank u shibu......the story of mrs.leela is inspiring. I think now our cinema directors should make an inspirational movie about us unlike guzaarish where the patient opts for death. It should be inspiring and taking the stories of such people......

Last week i joined PALLIUM INDIA home care group to visit a woman named Mrs LEELA.she stays in one of the smallest houses i ever saw with her aged mother. She met with an accident 28 yrs back and became paraplegic. husband divorced her and her two children stayed with father and step mother. she carried on-no one believed sho would survive-and slowly improved now she walks with crutches and does all her house hold chorus without her aged mothers help.eve draws water from a deep well!.state helped them to build a house and they get some pension from government. The most beautiful thing is that she is happy now and she smiled at us when we asked if she needs some help from us
