Rob, not sure where this goes, but I just found the best product - a waterproof bag for my smartphone that can be submerged yet has clear sides thin enough to operate while it is in the pouch. It comes with both a carabeener type clip and a lanyard. It solved my problem of how to keep my phone dry and accessible while bathing. URL:

living with pain and moving forward
James,
You just used one of my very favorite quotes and truisms from St Francis of Assisi. I have a C5-8 injury, nearly 6 years now, and that particular quote was on my email signature for years. Th...

Confessions of a Velcro Addict
You are not alone! I have velcro in my car that I added to keep my shoulder strap adaptor off of the floor so I won't run over it with my wheelchair. Bungee cords and carabiners are great adjuncts too!

Learned my lesson about participating in research!!! Responded to a survey request from a Harvard researcher. After completion I am informed that this study is comparing persons with SCI to lottery winners. How is this to benefit those with SCI? I felt used and tricked into participating in an offensive study - and one that was sent to me via email by the CDRF!!!

What function would you like to regain?
One of the things I miss most is the ability to slip into a room quietly and unnoticed. I used to quietly enjoy gatherings, moving about from place to place, or person to person without my arrival be...

Has your pet helped you
My buddy, Rebel, sunning in the morning. He's a miniature dachshund, born on 9/11/2011, soon to be 10 years old. He's my early warning announcer & cuddler who fiercely guards me & my wheelchair (even when it's empty). He keeps me moving on days when I would rather not, has adapted the way we play to my mobility changes, and is always ready for a snuggle.

I have been so interested in this conversation on pain. I remember when we started using the 10 point pain rating scale and wondering why it replaced the way I learned to evaluate pain in the "g...
