Has anyone heard of this? I just got a call from the case worker at the hospital my husband is currently in and she told me that I needed to sign my husband up for Medicaid. That 2 rehab facilities had turned him down because they only accept Medicaid patients and not any that are privately insured.
That just doesn't sound right. He is only 7 weeks into his recovery. Currently his goal is being weaned from the ventilator. The next is to be a rehab facility for his physical recovery.

Hello Sheila. Wanted to let you know if you have questions you can ask. My mom is a C 3,4,5 incomplete Quad (13 years). My dad has been caring for her at home with the help of caregivers. They are 84 now, and we have just started the process of applying for MediCal as they are running out of funds. Overwhelming is a word that cannot be used too often in the first year, but you've come to the right place. The CRPF was in it's beginning when Mom was injured, and has helped us so much. There are a lot of helpful resources and kind people. Like Speedy said, you are not alone, you are in a group of many people with care, compassion and marvelous ideas to help you through this process.

Give a shout when you are ready. Deborah
