There’s nothing more satisfying than being heard, and few things more soul-enriching than being part of a movement for change. “So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable.” -Christopher Reeve

AAHD/United Spinal Webinar gives Overview of ACA Changes
By
HCMStrategists
On Wednesday, January 30, the American Association on Health and Disability (AAHD) and United Spinal presented a webinar on the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The webinar provided a broad background on the changes the ACA will have in the coming months. While the webinar covered a lot of information, of particular interest to our community were the elimination of limits on the amount of care individuals can receive, new programs that will lead to better community-based services for people with disabilities, guaranteed approval for insurance coverage regardless of whether someone has a preexisting condition, and improved research methods for spinal cord injuries and paralysis.
These changes will greatly benefit the disability community, providing significant financial relief and ensuring that everyone has access to coverage no matter what. We will continue to keep you updated on the ACA and its implications for those living with spinal cord injuries and paralysis as new rules and regulations are put into place. The archived webinar from United Spinal, including slides, will be available
