President Obama Releases Proclamation on Anniversary of ADA

On July 26, 2012, President Obama released a proclamation acknowledging the 22nd anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The President noted the gains that have been made, but cautioned that many individuals with disabilities still suffer from various forms of discrimination. Paying tribute to those who helped the progression of disability rights, President Obama stated that the country would rededicate itself to empowering every individual with a disability with equal access and opportunity.
