Quadriplegic with extreme recurring UTIs and symptoms (suprapubic catheter)

Hey there guys I'm a 27-year-old quadriplegic who has been injured for nine years. I have a suprapubic catheter and I almost literally have a UTI or at least symptoms (chills, clammy, cold sweats) 100% of the time!! It's pretty horrible having to deal with this ALL OF THE TIME. A dose of the correct antibiotics used to "seem" to get rid of the UTI but for the past year or so it seems like even with the treatment of antibiotics to UTI lingers and hangs around… I know other quadriplegics that have suprapubic catheter's but still do not deal with the amount of UTIs/Symptoms that I deal with.…
I'm posting this hoping that somebody/anybody out there may have some helpful information or words of wisdom to help me correct this reoccurring issue! It's really starting to drag me down so any ideas or help that you can offer would be EXTREMELY appreciated!!

Hi Cruise,

My name is Beth and I am a member of the Information Specialist Team here at the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation. Has your doctor been able to give you any information about dealing with the recurring UTIs you are dealing with? Please call 1-800-539-7309 or 973-467-8270 and ask to speak to an Information Specialist.  We have a fact sheet on bladder management and we recently published a bladder management toolkit. We can send both of these to you. You can also go to our website to order the toolkit for yourself here: https://www.christopherreeve.org/about-us/publications
