We hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the summer. We wanted to join this forum to help raise awareness of bedsores also known as pressure ulcers. Pressure ulcers (PUs), or bedsores are really common among well people with limited mobility. Among wheelchair users, the risk of PUs is much higher than among the general population due to the longer periods of time spent seated without pressure relief. 58% of wheelchair users get a bedsore. Being aware of the bedsores is the 1st step to preventing them. Be proactive. Want to learn more about pressure ulcers? Check out Rubitection’s article which provides an overview on pressure ulcers!
