I am dealing with my fourth pressure sore and I've had it for over a year now. I have not had much luck with my doctors finding a way to close it. I've tried two different wound vacs and no change at all. My sore is on my right leg right in the area where a woman's underwear line would be. So, it's in a very odd place and it's not something I want to learn to live with, which is something I've been told is a possibility .

Does anyone know of any new treatments out there for wounds that are deep and tunnel?

Tiffany

Hi Tiffany,

It has been my experience that primary doctors for the most part do not have a clue. You need to look at your insurance policy to see what wound care is offered. My husband and I had to go through many dead ends before we found the proper care. We had a nurse practitioner come to the house and he healed ithe sore within a couple of months. Do not give up and do not leave it to the primary doctor. You might need an oxygen chamber type of therapy. I forget what it is called but, please look into it. Good luck

Hi Tiffany,
The oxygen chamber Paris 85 is talking about is the hyperbaric chamber, I have a wound that tunnels and my doctor is getting ready to do a muscle flap to close it in.
