Hi guys, I did a very short handcycle ride with a group called the Muddy Angels who rides in memory of and to raise funds for the families of EMT's who have been injured or killed in the line of duty.

Next year I would like to do the full ride from New York City to Washington DC however in order to do that I will need a decent handcycle, and definitally don't have the $$ sitting in my wallet.

Any ideas on training, funding or anything else are welcome.

Thanks

Sounds like a cool ride for a great cause. We have a bunch of folks that can give you some riding/bike advice. I'll send them your way Monday.

Hi LilFox~
I will be happy to help. I am a handcyclist and have done 2 NYC Marathons. I can pull up some resources for grants and post them for you on Monday.

I got a handcycle from a sponsor for my first Marathon in 2005 and after the race it was donated to Walter Reed Army Hospital for their Wounded Warrior program.

Where do you live? In NYC there is the Achilles Road Runners for atheletes with disabilities. They have rides on Saturdays and have handcycles for the club members to use.
