Hey Deni!
I spent two weeks in Indonesia before I broke my back. I started in Jakarta then went to visit the temples in Jogyjakarta and finally spent a week all over Bali. It's probably the most beautiful country in the world.
But I can imagine it's not very handicapped accessible. One thing I remember is that everybody used bicycles. I think this could be the answer to you feeling better. After I broke my back friends of mine bought me a hand cycle. I've been riding one now for more than 15 years. It makes me much healthier and my girlfriend loves what it does for my body! With all the bike welders in Indonesia, this would be easy to make. You can look on-line for designs. Good welders would love to make one for you. They love projects like this.
Look into it! Hand cycling changed my life!!!
Bali Bagus!

Hi, Deni!
Welcome here!
I'm so sorry to hear that you and your wife had to deal with such rude people. Because that
is what they are.
You are still the same person you were before your illness; you may just have to find new ways of doing things or other ways to enjoy outings with your wife and/or friends.
I think the handcycling suggestion is a great one!
I am an information specialist at the PRC and I have a spinal cord injury, C4-5-6.
