    Viral infection in spinal cord
    By SUCHITH
I am SUCHITH from India. I am a paralyzed person since 20 years with TRANSVERSE MYELETIS, that is viral infection in spinal cord.  This disease started with fever and back pain and then after urine incontinence. To treat this, i went to hospital in next morning and in evening doctors took the catheterization for the urinary problem. Next morning, my legs got paralyzed at the hospital bed.and i lost sensation also.  T-10 complete is my level of sensation.  After the 6 months of medication and rehabilitation, i went back to my home with a wheel chair. The condition is still remains unchanged (T-10 complete) till this day and i don't know whether i can walk ever.  Hoping for the best as other SCI persons, I expects the regeneration of spinal cord will disciver by scientists very soon.

    Hey Suchith!

I'm Tom. I'm from America but have been to India twice in my wheelchair - and I just got back from Bangladesh last week. Man, is it hard to get around there. I was living in Dharamsala in the North, which wasn't that bad because most of the businesses and hotels were on the bottom floor. But back in Delhi it was tough. I had to have people carry me all the time.
But you should get in touch with a friend of mine in Delhi, Javed Abidi. Javed is the best guy in India on disability rights. He works to get companies to hire people in chairs. Plus, he's just a really great guy to hang out with. Email him!  javed_abidi@ncpedp.org. Look at his website too  www.ncpedp.org.

    Cheers!

    Tom
