My name is Lisa and 4 years ago I was involved in a domestic violence accident in which I fell 14 3/4 feet out of a 2-story bedroom window and was left to die.  The results of that accident has left me a T3 incomplete and paralyzed from the waist down. I have a very fortunate support system with my family and friends but they just don't get it on all the high and lows of being paralyzed so I figured I would introduce myself and participate in discussions.

Thank you for reaching out to me. When I first was in my accident and actually  not untill about 2 years ago I didn't want to reach out to anyone that was paralyzed because then I would admit to myself that I was just like them and I thought I was just going to get up and walk someday so I didn't need to associate. But now I know that it was just stupid thinking and now that I have been living as a paralyzed person I understand that I was totally wrong. Sorry to hear about this unfortunate incident happen to you. I’m also T3-T4 incomplete due a road accident by a drunk driver 7 years ago.
I can feel you on how sometimes its makes you frustrating when ur not the same as before and thinking unable to do things as you did before. But with time it do get better but still it will be so tough.. so have faith in you that you will get over it.. live life for the fullest.. try to have chat with ppl who are paralyzed and it do make you strong when you find out all the struggles they go through in their lifes.. it did really help me when I was about to give up..
