Epi-Stim--For Kyle and others
By
PRC_Bernadette
Yesterday I received a comment from Kyle asking me about how to become enrolled in Epi-Stim research. Rob Summers and his progress with epi-stim has been written about on the Reeve Foundation websites but there has been very little in the way of dialogue here in the community forums. I thought I would use Kyle's question to start a new topic.
Kyle" How do I sign up to be involved in epi-stim research?"
Kyle: The best place to locate accurate and up to date information on epi-stim is via
www.christopherreeve.org
There is a FAQ called, Epidural Spinal Cord Stimulation in a Paraplegic Human that covers the basics. It is located here:
http://www.christopherreeve.org/site/c.ddJFKRNoFiG/b.7391711/k.7FAE/Frequently_Asked_Questions.htm
At the end of this page, there is information that tells you how to inquire about being a participant:
Is it possible for me to qualify as a subject for this research?
It's too soon to consider enrolling in a clinical trial. Once experiments expand to include more people, researchers will set forth the qualifying criteria. When trials do occur, information will be made public. To learn more about the ongoing studies, contact the University of Louisville/Frazier Rehab Institute at www.spinalcordmedicine.com or call 1-866-540-7719. Specific questions can be emailed to:
info@spinalcordmedicine.com
.
I hope this answer is helpful to you. I would suggest that you begin by sending an email to
info@spinalcordmedicine.com
.
