Absolutely! Here is the flyer:
Dissertation Research Study
Title: Phenomena Associated with Spinal Cord Injuries during Adolescence
Participants needed: If you are the parent of an adolescent within the ages of 13 to 20 who has suffered a spinal cord injury due to an accident or an adult who suffered a spinal cord injury as an adolescent, and at least 1 year post injury, you would qualify as a participant.
Description of Study: The purpose of the study is to gain an understanding of the factors associated with adjustment to a life with a spinal cord injury (SCI) as an adolescent. The information gained will benefit future researchers and clinicians in understanding what psychological programs need to be established or modified in order to assist future adolescent SCI patients in successfully adjusting to a life with an SCI.
A $20 gift card will be offered at the completion of the study to thank you for your time and participation.
Thanks. I'll put it in this week's newsletter. Let us know how it goes.
I would be happy to participate for your dissertation. But, how does one participare unless it's through a reply to your post. I am a 62year old male that was SCI at the age of 15, so I have a lot of years of "experience". Do I need to post my e-mail address or how do I contact you?
Hi Keely! Reading your request for participants, and I find this very fascinating. I believe that anything we can do now that may help someone in the future is always for the good of everyone.
My son was 19 when he was involved in a motorcycle accident, leaving him with a SCI at the T 4-5 level. He is now almost 3 years post. If you are interested, either one of us would be happy to participate in your work for your dissertation.
I am also his primary caregiver at this time. Please let me know if you would like me to include that aspect or focus primarily on the parents viewpoint. Feel free to respond to my e-mail, I wuld be happy to hear from you.
Wayne & Laura,
Thank you very much! I sent you a "friend request" and included a message about how to contact me by email or phone. Thanks again!
Are you still looking for participants for your dissertation? I was injured at the age of 15 in a car accident and have a SCI of the C5-6. It's been almost 24 years since my accident. Please contact me if you still need people.
Yes I do! Thank you! I will send you a message with my info. -Keely
Keely, Were you able to send it to my yahoo address? Tiffany
I am qualified and interested in participating. please send me this link, Many thanks
Darrell & Laura,
Are you still interested in participating? I sent a message, but I had not heard back from you. Please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are still interested. Thank you.
I read your post with great interest as I am currently working on something quasi-related (it, however, is NOT a scientific study). What DNA it does share has to do with the emotional, psychological and societal impact of disability on the individual. Adult/sudden onset disability is the equivalent of a 5-Alarm Fire that, quite literally, imperils the psyche and soul of the now disabled human being struggling to remain above water in a flood of healthcare assistance that essential neglects/negates all but the physical impact. I would love to speak with you and share some perspective. If you are interested, please email me at email@example.com and give me your contact coordinates. Thank you! Best Wishes, Chris Traynor, Wayne, NJ 07470, USA (disabled at age 41, now permanently in a wheelchair and fighting chronic maladies).
Are you still looking for participants for your study? I am a 32 year old T4-5 female para, and was injured when I was 12 by an accidental gunshot. If you are still looking for participants, please feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or look me up on Facebook.
