I LOVE what Dimitre & Linda shared. So many people want to blow sunshine up our a**es, or, as Linda suggests, want to believe that we are bitter if we don't have hope of ever walking again. But in reality, many of us have come to terms with our respective situations and have chosen to make the best of it. After sharing the content of this forum with my AB wife, whom I met and married post injury, her suggestion for the biggest myth is that we all are "so inspirational." Now, whille people may genuinely derive inspriation from us, we may not necessarily intend to project inspiration or be inspiraitonal. But whatever. If ABs want to project that on us, then so be it. Overall, on balance, it can't be that harmful, can it?
My wife's other suggestion as to the biggest SCI myth, according to her friends & colleagues, is that she must have met and fallen in love with me before my injury (because how could she have possibly fallen in love with someone "confined" to a wheelchair?). Yeah...didn't necessarily work out that way.
