    Home Alone: Family Caregivers Providing Complex Chronic Care

    A new national survey finds 46 percent of family caregivers perform medical and nursing tasks for care recipients with multiple chronic physical and cognitive conditions. The study by the AARP Public Policy Institute and the United Hospital Fund shows family caregivers provide medication management – including administering IVs and injections – as well as a number of other medical and nursing tasks.
