I need help!
By
Debra
I have been having horrible bowel problems lately. I was using a suppository twice a week and was doing well until three months ago. I am a c4-c7 incomplete and have been gaining strength and movement but it seems thar every time I reach a new level, something goes wrong in my bowels and it absolutely wipes me out and sets me way back. The problem seems to be in the small intestine as the suppository works to clean out the colon but the pressure and bloating remain. I had the barium enema lower GI done, but they could not get a very good reading due to too much fecal matter remaining in the intestines. I keep begging the doctors to do a MRI but they look at me like I'm crazy. I have taken many different laxatives but nothing ever seems to make me feel like my small intestines have ever emptied. This happens every 6 weeks or so. How can I get my doctors to take me seriously? As I live alone, have no help, and my hands and legs are partially paralyzed, it is extremely difficult for me to give myself an enema and those do not help the upper GI anyway. Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated.
