This comes from our friends at Global Abilities:
This Saturday, the Global Abilities Foundation will host the 2013 Philadelphia Rec Fest, an inclusive recreation festival for all ages and abilities. The FREE event showcases numerous exciting activities such as scuba diving, rock climbing, wheelchair sports, art, gardening, martial arts and carnival games.
The Rec Fest mission is to help everyone enjoy the benefits of recreation. You are never too old, too sick, too injured, or too busy to get active! In addition, by bringing together so many different individuals and organizations together in one place, we realize that what we have in common far outweighs the few differences that separate us. This realization is the first step in our working together to achieve our common goals and create a more inclusive world.
Above all else, the Rec Fest, sponsored in part by a Reeve Foundation Quality of Life grant, is a celebration of our abilities!
If you are in the Philadelphia area, I hope to see you at the Rec Fest this Saturday. Please see flyer for details or visit www.recfest.net.
