This is where the staff of the Reeve Foundation is sharing up-to-the-minute information and putting some context around the news affecting the spinal cord injury and paralysis community. Not to mention insight into what's going on here at the Foundation.

On Saturday, September 14th Eric LeGrand single handedly brought a stadium full of over 40,000 individuals to their feet - a feat he is literally fighting to accomplish himself and for the nearly 5.6 million Americans living with paralysis.
As Rutgers University honored Eric and his perseverance by retiring his #52, the first time in the school's 144-year history, he was overwhelmed with gratitude.
His voice and words captured the hearts of all those in attendance as he thanked his supporters, the Rutgers community, family and friends after being presented with the first ever Rutgers Knight sword with his number and mantra 'bELIeve' and an entire video package of NFL players, coaches, and friends congratulating him.
When the white sheet fell from over the large 52 numbers forever cemented on the Rutgers field box (at right), Eric's smile was quite possibly larger than that of entire championship team just winning the big game.
Eric took this time to thank everyone but also as his moment to bring awareness to spinal cord injuries. Officially announcing the creation of Team LeGrand of the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, Eric challenged the crowd to join his team and celebrate with him by fighting for the paralysis community.
With tears in my eyes, I watched as Eric acknowledged his blessings and the notoriety he's received, but made it known there are millions just like him that need more help. Eric has taken his position as his personal vocation, as a chance to stare into his future and recognize the need for more funding for emerging therapies and quality of life initiatives.
Turning tragedy into triumph, it's safe to say Eric's hungry, he's driven, and he's only just beginning.
