New Jersey Governor Chris Christie announced on Friday the 2012 NJ Hall of Fame class. Joining ten other famed individuals with ties to New Jersey is Princeton native, Christopher Reeve.

From NJ.com:

Reeve’s mother Barbara Johnson, who still lives in Princeton, says she’s grateful to all who voted for her son, who died in 2004. "It was as a youngster growing up in Princeton that Chris first learned many of the skills and interests that were so much a part of his life as an actor and an activist," she said. The Class of 2012 will be inducted at a gala June 9 at Newark’s New Jersey Performing Arts Center. Tickets go on sale March 1. The E Street Band will be touring with Bruce Springsteen (class of ‘08) this spring, so its induction will be postponed.

"We have a lot to be proud of in this state," Christie said. "It’s another way for us to make ourselves feel good about where we’re from, where are roots are and just as important the past is often a prolog to what our future can be as well."
