Please join the New England Regional Spinal Cord Injury Center for a FREE webcast on Wednesday, January 18 from 6:30 - 8 pm (EST.)

Presenter:
Mary Mahon McCauley
Area Director, Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission

About the Webcast:

Employment is an integral part of life. Most people identify with the type of work they do, and choose their career because they have an interest or even a passion in the field. This does not have to change after a spinal cord injury. Returning to work can be intimidating, but there are many resources available to help on the journey back to employment. During this month’s lecture, our speaker, Mary Mahon McCauley will discuss the available resources that can help guide, assist, and support individuals in attaining their vocational goals. Attendees of this month's lecture will: be aware of the possibilities of returning to work after spinal cord injury, and understand the resources available to support individuals as they navigate the road back to work after spinal cord injury.

Mary Mahon McCauley is a Licensed Rehabilitation Counselor who has worked as a Vocational Rehabilitation Professional for 24 years. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with a concentration in Sociology and Urban Social Services as well as a Masters of Education in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Massachusetts Boston. She has worked at the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC) since 1989 in a variety of roles including: Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, Unit Supervisor, Job Placement Specialist, and Area Director. She has functioned as the Area Director or Manager of the Downtown Boston office since 2008. In addition to her role with MRC, she is the facilitator of a low vision support group for the Massachusetts Association for the Blind in Brookline. Mary serves on the Consumer Advisory Board of the Perkins Braille and Talking Book Library in Watertown. She also serves on the Commission on Disability for the city of Quincy where she lives with her husband and fourteen year old son.
