This is where the staff of the Reeve Foundation is sharing up-to-the-minute information and putting some context around the news affecting the spinal cord injury and paralysis community. Not to mention insight into what's going on here at the Foundation. Feel free to comment and offer suggestions. We'll respond.

Jesse Ruben is running the ING New York City Marathon for the second time on Sunday as part of Team Reeve. Last year, our web manager, Julie, basically dared him to and he took up the challenge and kicked butt. This year he got his sister to do it too.

Read Molly's story here.

Read Jesse's blog about why he runs for Team Reeve. Here's a taste:
First of all, I want you to know that it’s currently 8:36am. I got up at 4:15am to run 4 miles in the park near my house. It is very rare that I ever see this time of day, and I gotta say, I like it a whole lot more than I pretend to.

I was not an athlete in high school. When people ask me if I ran track or cross country when I was younger, I laugh. I spent most of high school going to concerts and complaining about homework. I never ran more than 1 mile, once a year, when we did physical fitness tests in gym class.

I run for The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation.

I run for Zack, who goes through more on a daily basis than I can possibly imagine.

Oh, you can run too. Find out how to join Team Reeve.

I'm bringing my video camera Sunday, so I'll show you all the action very soon.

In the meantime, watch the video from last year, Jesse is featured.
