This is where the staff of the Reeve Foundation is sharing up-to-the-minute information and putting some context around the news affecting the spinal cord injury and paralysis community. Not to mention insight into what's going on here at the Foundation. Feel free to comment and offer suggestions. We'll respond.

Team Reeve is the athletic fundraising arm of the Foundation. What does that mean? People sign up to bowl, swim, walk, hike, run marathons, bike across the U.S., you name it, all in our name. Then they ask their friends, family and even strangers to support them by making a donation.

If you want to talk marathons: October 10 will be in Chicago, the 31st at the Marine Corps Marathon in DC, and November 7th in NYC.

The question is why. Why would you go to the trouble, get all the blisters, experience the hassle and hardship of it all? And that's just asking people for money.

Well, we went out and asked some past and present Team Reeve members that very question.

Their answers may surprise you!

Kimberly1: One month from today is the ING New York City Marathon! I couldn't be more proud to be a part of this great group of people... nor could I be more scared. I know that the spirit of Chris and Dana Reeve, and the spirit of Bob Heinle will be with me each step of the way. Thank you, Team Reeve!
