I heard from one of our favorite Team Reevers this week, Nancy Ansheles, who first ran with us in NYC in 2009. She continues to help spread the mission of the Reeve Foundation as a member of Team Reeve, this year at the Twin Cities Marathon in Minnesota. Here's her report:

"Just want to report that I did complete the Twin Cities Marathon in honor of Team Reeve. While I haven’t raised as much money as I wanted, I still work on that, I did get a lot of shout outs to Team Reeve along the way which I hope translates to thousands of dollars’ worth of marketing! Of course depending whether people saw me at mile 7 or miles 17, the face above my shirt might look different. Dozens of people called out Team Reeve and I kept looking at them thinking I’d know them! How foolish.

The course is BEAUTIFUL! Through 4 lakes, down the Mississippi (felt like the whole way, but I think just a mile!), and through some beautiful homes etc. It was cold at the start 28 and throughout most of it. Didn’t get down to my shorts until mile 17!  My brother Buzz, to the left in the photo in red with a big smile and Winton the guy who took the photo, were great supports and full of laughter and stories the whole way (they were laughing, I was grimacing). Of course I kept thinking of my father-in-law Buddy the whole way. I know he would have been proud and happy to eat as much as I did after the race!  There was a sign along the way that particularly reminded me of why I was running. It said “run because you can”  Good words even if my knees hurt.

Anyway, thought you might get a kick out of this photo. If there’s one more marathon in me (not promising), you can be sure I’ll be on Team Reeve whether it’s with a group or on my own."

We love you Nancy!!
