When I saw the movie Up in the Air it made me think of all the traveling people do for work, myself included. Sure I may not be able to dish out 10 platinum or gold plated frequent flying cards like the movie but I step into an airport for more than just a vacation.
As an Information Specialists here at the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation one of my jobs is to get out there and tell the public about the Reeve Foundation and its Paralysis Resource Center. I go to conferences around the county to meet the nurses, caseworkers, social workers, and public to let them know about us and what we do.
I recently got back from the ARN (Association of Rehabilitation Nurses) Conference in Orlando, FL and it was a true pleasure to meet these fabulous and dedicated nurses. I have been to the show before and I was great that some nurses remembered Jenn from the Reeve Foundation. At the booth we may get thanked for giving a Quality of Life Grant or complimented on our Paralysis Resource Guide but we also get questions from nurses looking for information to help patients as well as educate fellow nurses on spinal cord injury. It is great to get our resources, information, and services into the right hands to hopefully make a difference.
