UCP Wheels for Humanity
Thanks for the mention, and for posting this summary of the work of my favorite worldwide humanitarian organization. UCP WFH also boasts extremely low overhead costs, thanks to the commitment of their founders and the hundreds of volunteers who make things happen.

Fed up with Limited Access to Medical Equipment?
Joni, I agree about the optometrist offices. My best luck has been to use optometrists or opthamologists for the exam that are connected to/with a hospital. However, watch out for the prices if they sell eyewear there, as it can be exceptionally pricey; take your prescription to Costco or a similar major discount chain instead.

What Happened To Airlines?
Kristi, all new airplanes must have at least half the armrests removable, but those corners and narrow aisles will still impede us. I have to fly on smaller planes in May, and am not looking forward to it. Are You Prepared for What the New Year will Bring?
Deborah,
Thanks for sharing the story of your parents' evacuation. Your Dad's attitude reminds me of the old adage "You can lead a horse to water, but..." Otherwise, it appears that your Mom's preparations are very thorough, and I applaud your proactive notification of the local fire dept. Thanks again, and I wish them luck when the rains come down.
