We received this information from The Virginia Wounded Warrior Program – Northern Region is hosting a MISSION: Healthy Relationships.
MISSION: Healthy Relationships - Couples Workshop May 4-6
Hello all,
The Virginia Wounded Warrior Program – Northern Region is hosting a MISSION: Healthy Relationships workshop in Dumfries, VA on May 4-6. MISSION: Healthy Relationships is a skills building workshop designed for U.S. military veteran couples who are in committed relationships but who are having relational difficulties due to the impact of deployment, military service, post-traumatic stress, operational stress and traumatic brain injury (TBI). This weekend workshop will be held at the Holiday Inn Quantico (in Dumfries, VA) on May 4-6. We can accommodate up to 10 couples. It is imperative that persons who wish to participate contact me directly. See the attached flier for more detailed information on the workshop.
Please note: This workshop is for those not on active duty (veterans, retirees, and members of the National Guard and Reserves).
I appreciate any efforts to help get the word out about this couples workshop!
Thank you,
Mark

Greetings! I thought this benefit might be helpful to others. The messaging below highlights the TSGLI benefit available to service members and Veterans who were hospitalized for at least 15 consecutive days due to traumatic injuries incurred on or after October 7, 2001 and who have not already received the maximum benefit of $100,000.

TSGLI Benefit of $25,000 Available to Service Members and Veterans Who Were Hospitalized
Service members who were hospitalized for at least 15 consecutive days due to a traumatic injury incurred on or after Oct. 7, 2001 may be eligible for a $25,000 payment under the Servicemembers’ Group Life Insurance Traumatic Injury Protection (TSGLI) Program. Benefits are available regardless of the geographic location of where the injury occurred. In addition, service members can apply for the hospitalization benefit even if they have been discharged or received TSGLI benefits for other losses.
TSGLI covers a range of losses in addition to 15-day continuous hospitalization, including amputations; limb salvage; paralysis; burns; loss of sight, hearing, or speech; facial reconstruction; coma; certain genitourinary losses; and loss of activities of daily living due to traumatic brain injury or other traumatic injuries.
All active duty members, reservists, and National Guard members who are covered by Servicemembers’ Group Life Insurance (SGLI) as of December 1, 2005 are automatically covered by TSGLI. Members are covered under TSGLI 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, both on and off duty. The Veterans Benefit Improvement Act of 2010 recently expanded TSGLI to also cover service members who incurred qualifying losses out of theater between October 7, 2001 and November 30, 2005.
For more information about the TSGLI benefit for service members and Veterans who were hospitalized, please visit http://goo.gl/QGTlf. For a complete list of qualifying losses, and an application for TSGLI benefits, go to
www.insurance.va.gov/sgliSite/TSGLI/TSGLI.htm.
