You don't let the dust build up in your home, right? So you should not let the metaphorical dust build up in your body!
I am sure that you have heard about your old, dead cells getting removed from your body. Skin cells, for example, are always flaking off. But how about the waste of the cells that are rebuilding? Laura Schocker recently blogged about how she was able to give up diet soda, and I thought her tips could help others with kicking this habit.
First, replace the fizz! Try sparkling water, and add a small amount of real fruit juice to sweeten it up, or squeeze a citric fruit into it. Then you have to find a way to replace the caffeine... Iced tea or hot tea is a great no calorie substitute! I personally like to ice green tea, it's refreshing and it wakes me up! If you need to sweeten your tea a little, try some honey.
Next, there is the habit. Do you have a ritual associated with getting your diet soda? Or is the container part of the habit? Figure it out and replace it. Most importantly, try to drink more water. If you don’t have the chance to feel thirsty, it will help the craving of the soda.
Don’t beat yourself up if you cheat! But cutting back is a great start. Read the full article by this diet soda addict at: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/laura-schocker/diet-soda-addiction_b_1248404.html
