Good Morning! My 31 year old son has had a rocky road since his accident the end of October. His injury is a C4, he's still on a vent. He spent six weeks in the hospital following his accident and then 4 days at the Kessler Institute. His sodium level went down so he had to go back to the hospital where he's now been for almost two weeks. Currently his sodium level is up but he's in kind of a 'twilight' state. His eyes are open, he blinks on command, but otherwise unresponsive. The hospital can't figure out why this is happening. When this is resolved, he will be returned to Kessler, if he survives. His injuries were catastrophic and maybe there's something else going on in relation to his accident that no one is even aware of yet. Twenty years or so ago he would have died on the spot and he may still wish to die when he really realizes what his life is going to be like. I know they say it's darkest before the dawn, so I'm patiently waiting for the dawn.

Hello,
My name is Hee Do Jang and I am a first year Master's Level student of Occupational Therapy at California State University, Dominguez Hills. I am conducting research along with my research partner, Micaela King, about Motherhood and SCI, and need permission from an online moderator in order to move forward with the Institutional Review Board (IRB).
The research hopes are that we can gather information about experiences of mothers who have SCI to raise awareness and possibly create programs and increase funding for this understudied population.
All research is overseen by Dr. Claudia Peyton, OTD, OTR/L, FAOTA. I can send you exactly what will be posted if you like.
I would really appreciate your approval because it has been very difficult recruiting volunteers.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Hee Do Jang

Hello everyone, my sister met with an accident in 2009 and is quadriplegia(C4-C6). It was her first job after graduation, while coming back from work place, her office cab hit a stationary truck and my sister suffered a spinal cord injury. From then on my sister has been on emotional roller coster at times she is very positive and would say that one day she would be back on her feet. She had a very bad day and met with an accident and she is hoping likewise a good day is gonna come and she will be on her feet.My prayers are always with her and hope her wish to come true.Since she is just at home after the accident, i was thinking may be she should get back to work(part time) and for that she needs an electronic wheel chair, can anyone guide me to find a best wheel chair for my sister and the organisations that would donate wheel chairs...Thanks in advance ..Regards Vani
