Jen, I enjoy your writing. I did read the gory details as well as this, yuck. The old, sad images of what much of the world layers over people with disabilities is so wrong. My wish is put shrink wrap around the world with the truth about disability, it's a life experience that enhances all our senses, it doesn't dim us, it lights us up. I've heard that heartbreak creates a larger space to love from.
